What to buy in Bucks County, and what to skip
Two Gannett dailies, a local AM talk station and a 29-minute average commute. We plan around all three, so your ads show up for Bucks drivers and readers and skip the rest.

Media we buy for Bucks County
- Television Advertising The county sits in the Philadelphia market, so a TV spot also shows up in Delaware and Montgomery counties. Before you buy, we tell you whether those extra viewers help you or waste money.
- Radio Advertising Most Bucks residents drive alone to work, which puts them in a car for about 29 minutes each way. WBCB 1490 AM in Levittown handles local talk and sports, and Philadelphia stations cover the rest.
- Print Advertising The Bucks County Courier Times covers the lower county, and The Intelligencer covers central and northern Bucks. We buy them as separate buys, because they reach different readers.
- Out of Home Advertising I-95, Route 1, the Turnpike at Exit 343 and Route 611 near Neshaminy Mall carry the traffic. Levittown and Langhorne also have billboards that advertisers can book themselves, and they are worth a look.
- Paid Search Advertising Bucks buyers search from a town, not a county. We set the map around Newtown, Doylestown or Bensalem and count which one sends the calls.
- Social Media Advertising The median age is 44.3, and the median household income is about $114,800. Paid ads on Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms here mean reaching established homeowners, not students, and the message should say so.

- What we’d buy first
- We would price the two dailies against a WBCB and Philadelphia radio schedule for the morning and evening drive, then look at Route 1 and I-95 billboards near the retail anchors. The 29-minute commute is the reason. It gives radio and roadside billboards more time with each driver than the national average does. Television would sit behind those, unless you need the whole Philadelphia market.

Bucks County is a print-and-road market. The Bucks County Courier Times is a daily out of Levittown, and The Intelligencer reaches central and northern Bucks. We buy them as separate buys and compare them on readership, price and fit with your customers, so your budget goes further with the readers who matter to you.
We have worked with Parx Casino, in Bensalem, on television, radio, event creative and a billboard. You can see the pieces first, and you know we have seen the crowds up close.
I-95, Route 1 and the Turnpike carry heavy daily traffic, and Oxford Valley Mall and Neshaminy Mall sit near them. You get billboards priced against the traffic each one sees, so your budget puts your ad in front of more drivers.
A single county-wide message is usually too loose. A plan that names Levittown in one place and Doylestown in another lands better, so more people see an ad that sounds like their own town.
Where the Bucks County buy is planned
- Doylestown The county seat and home of Doylestown Hospital, with the Central Bucks Chamber’s The Journal covering the business community.
- Bensalem Parx Casino and Neshaminy Mall are here, so it is a traffic and event market close to I-95 and the Turnpike.
- Levittown Post-war capes and ramblers, the Courier Times, WBCB 1490 AM and billboards that advertisers can book themselves all sit in the lower county.
- Newtown A former county seat that suits local print and tightly drawn search.
- Langhorne Home of The Intelligencer and Oxford Valley Mall, and another town where advertisers can book billboards themselves.
- Quakertown The northern county’s hub, served by the Upper Bucks Chamber and reached mostly by regional print and roadside billboards.
- Warminster A lower-county community on the Route 132 side, where a driver hears radio more than any other medium.
- Southampton A suburban market near Route 232 and the Montgomery County line, useful for plans that span both counties.
Reading the Bucks County market
Bucks County has about 647,000 residents and four full seasons, with the Delaware River along the eastern edge. The housing is varied. Lower Bucks has the Levittown-era capes and ramblers of the 1950s.
Central Bucks has newer subdivisions. The north has historic stone farmhouses and borough rowhomes. The top employers are led by grocery, education, government and healthcare: Giant Food Stores, the Central Bucks School District, Bucks County government, Walmart and Doylestown Hospital, based on the Pennsylvania Department of Labor’s top-50 list.
Nearly half of the top 50 are healthcare employers. Parx Casino and Racing ranks around number 29. Three regional chambers cover the county: the Lower Bucks County Chamber, which publishes Outlook Magazine, the Central Bucks Chamber, which publishes The Journal, and the Upper Bucks Chamber in Quakertown.
The Greater BucksMont Chamber covers the Bucks and Montgomery border. For business news, the Philadelphia Business Journal covers the region. Doylestown is the county seat today, and Bristol and Newtown were earlier seats.
Billboards are regulated by local zoning and by PennDOT, the state road agency, on state routes and interstates, so we check every board before we quote it. What ties it together for an advertiser is time in the car. The average commute is 29 minutes and most workers drive alone, so radio and roadside billboards get the most time in front of your customer.
Print does the local work, and the chambers’ own publications reach the business community directly. Both dailies belong to Gannett, which means a buyer can negotiate them together, but the readers are not the same. The Bucks County Herald and Bucks County Magazine add smaller, local audiences.
Chickie’s & Pete’s press placements include the Bucks County Courier Times, and the same client’s print and radio work speaks to the same audience. The Turnpike exit at Route 611 near Neshaminy Mall and the Turnpike and I-95 interchange area are places where a billboard is seen by a lot of cars. Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne sits near Route 1, I-95, I-295 and the Turnpike, and a SEPTA rail station is nearby.
Redevelopment toward a town-center concept was reported in 2026. We would not build a plan on that, but we would watch it. The median household income is about $114,800, and homeownership is 77.8%.
Levittown’s post-war capes and ramblers, the stone farmhouses and boroughs of the north, and the newer developments of Central Bucks each suggest a different message.

Advertising in Bucks County: common questions
Which Bucks County newspaper should I advertise in?
It depends on where your customers live. The Bucks County Courier Times is a daily out of Levittown and reaches the lower county. The Intelligencer is published from Langhorne and reaches central and northern Bucks plus eastern Montgomery County. We compare both on readership, price and how well the readers match your goal, and negotiate each as its own buy, so you pay for the readers you need.
Is WBCB a good radio buy for Bucks County?
It can be, for a local message. WBCB 1490 AM in Levittown carries talk and local sports, which suits a business that wants to sound like part of the community. For wider reach, Philadelphia stations cover the county too. We would compare the schedules side by side and buy whichever gives the better match for your customer.
Can you put a billboard on I-95 or Route 1 in Bucks County?
We can plan and negotiate one. I-95 and Route 1 are two of the county’s heaviest roads, and Levittown and Langhorne also have billboards that advertisers can book themselves. Placement rules come from municipal zoning and from PennDOT, the state road agency, on state routes and interstates, so we confirm the details, availability and price for each board before we quote it.
Have you advertised in Bucks County before?
We have worked with Parx Casino, which is in Bensalem, on television, radio, event creative and a billboard. We have also worked with Chickie’s & Pete’s, whose press placements include the Bucks County Courier Times. We will show you those pieces, so you can judge the work for yourself before you decide anything.
How do you handle the three Bucks County chambers?
We treat them as three audiences. The Lower Bucks County Chamber publishes Outlook Magazine, the Central Bucks Chamber publishes The Journal in Doylestown, and the Upper Bucks Chamber is in Quakertown. If your customers are other businesses, those publications are worth comparing next to the newspapers. If they are consumers, we would leave them out.
